America's Tribal Council
The 8th season of Survivor was unique for many reasons. For seven previous seasons we watched groups of strangers battle for a million dollar prize. With the All-Stars we were able to watch some of our favorite players return to play again. Not only were they familiar to us, the viewers, but through the years many of them had become friends as well. So for the first time we watched a group of friends play this game…bringing with them a new dynamic of how people who know each other deal with relationships when there is a million dollars on the line. Sufficient to say, there were a lot of emotions both good and bad as a result of this new dynamic. Also, throughout all of the previous seasons we fans would sit at home, wishing we could cast a vote or impact the game somehow.
Well, while we didn't get a vote during the game, we did get the chance to have a vote after the game was over and give “Our Favorite All-Star” a million dollars. At the end of the All-Stars reunion show, Jeff Probst announced that CBS was putting up a second million dollars, and fans of the show could vote for their favorite All-Star. The winner would be announced 5 days later at another live show, and would be presented with a check right there.
Fans could text their vote, or go on-line and vote. Along with voting for their favorite All-Star, fans could vote in a number of categories like best moments, best fight, ect. Over the course of five days 38 million votes were cast.

The field of 18 was narrowed down to the top 4 vote getters.
The top four were: Rupert, Big Tom, Colby, and Rob M.
It was not a big surprise to anyone when Rupert was named as “Our Favorite All-Star”
And here are the other categories that we had a chance to vote on: Sexiest Survivor Man:
Winner: Colby Donaldson
Hottest Survivor Woman:
Winner: Amber Brkich
Best Survivor Fight: Alicia vs. Kimmi (outback), Ted vs. Ghandia (Thailand), Robb Z. vs. Clay (Thailand), Rupert vs. Johnny Fairplay (Pearl Islands), and Rob M. vs. Lex (All-Stars)
Winner: Rupert vs. Johnny Fairplay
Greatest Survivor Moment: Sue’s rat and snake speech (Borneo), Mike Skupin falls in the fire (Outback), Girls get naked for peanut butter (Amazon), Johnny Fairplay’s dead grandma hoax (Pearl Islands), and Rupert steals shoes (Pearl Islands)
Winner: Rupert steals shoes
Best Survivor Villains: Richard Hatch, Jerri Manthey, Brian Heidik, Rob Cesternino, and Johnny Fairplay
Winner: Johnny Fairplay
In addition, the next season of Survivor was announced as Jeff unveiled a promo for Survivor: Vanuatu, Islands of Fire.
