I never have-I do know some people do...This is only my second time applying though (unless you count the time I applied "wrong" during a Blonde Moment of Galactic Proportions...
Thanks for the compliment on the video (can't wait to post the "real" video)-I liked yours too, the shower was a neat idea!
Good luck on your quest!

I take it you mean sending in more than one video and more than one application? What I've heard through the rancid Survivor grapevine is that they really don't like getting multiple applications from one person during an application cycle. First of all you might as well just put the most effort into showing who you are with one application and video. Secondly I think they divvy up the videos and applications among many casting associates for review and they MAY even have some sort of "finders fee" reward for the CA's that end up getting their "finds" eventually cast on the show. But certainly they feel as though their time has been wasted if they get multiple applications, especially in a multiple CA situation. And thirdly, if you're going to act differently on an alternate video it might just add to their confusion as to who you really are.

It's always been my opinion that when they go through applications their first desire is to look for reasons not to select people. So anything that pisses them off in the slightest way may not help your cause. On the other hand if you piss them off in the proper way they might think you're perfect for the show. I've heard of people sending in multiple packages, like one for each local interview city only to get a call back chiding them for being a real pain in the ass.

Instead of sending in multiple videos you MIGHT want to try just adding more length to your vid. If you catch their attention they might watch more than 3 minutes although there's no gaurantee. But I do remember Burton sending in a video where he appeared normal in most of it but also added a section where he acted like a dim bulb. Not sure if he was recruited and coached to include that or if he was trying to show his acting abilities. Who really knows what this casting department really wants!!????

Master Po,
I'm honored! I've enjoyed your work. I was just thinking maybe different people view the videos and multiple entries might increase my odds. But I'll take your words of advice.
Thanks
Marcus

Oh, almost forgot. I guess I'm guilty of sending in two videos as well. That was when they decided to do the first All Stars and I had already sent in a video before they advanced the deadline by a week. Needless to say my application was supposed kept in a locked vault in the secure basement of Funk and Wagnalls until the next application period. But in my zeal to play around with my video camera some more I sent another one at the end of All Stars.

So, I get this call back and the person at the other end mentioned they liked my videos, implying that they had looked at both videos and applications. That didn't really seem to go anywhere most likely because of a comical sequence of events that delayed my responding to their initial phone call. I got the feeling that once I got in touch with them they had already moved on, or weren't very serious in me in the first place. But anywho, this whole thing caused me a whole lot of consternation because I'm not really sure which application caught their eye. As an engineer I'm all about process - trying to understand process and trying to figure out how to improve process. It doesn't matter much if it's a design method, a corporate challenge event, a Survivor application, or a game of Operation. So by responding they really threw me for a loop trying to figure out what to do in the future. Maybe I should just pack my bags and quit trying, but good grief, I we quit that means SEG has won.

Well I have sent multiple tapes I personally would like to have multiple call backs Nothing like multiple rejection. I sent one in for Season 9 which became Allstars. They said they would keep them guess the kept them at the land fill but I sent another in then I heard about the Casting call and I went to that too. Moral of story. You can win the lotto with one ticket but I like to hedge my bets. They are to cheap to send you a nasty letter telling you to stop. Besides annoying people seem to get on the Island so what the heck!

I don't even want to make another tape after this casting call. The place was empty and they made everyone do 1 minute and they even had a freaking timer. I would rather take a stool sample then go through that again. I think it was more humiliation then being led down the hospital hall by my cath by a nusre. Wait around for two hours and they give you less than a min to make a tape. Do you find this valuable?

There was no one there they made people wait just so they would have a crowd. I am too irate right now to make a tape and I dont have time working 12 hr days until the 28th no days off. Deadline is the 17th. I am really pissed. It was obvious they don't give a crap and they don't hide it. It was totally different from seasons past. Just don't know why they advertise 15 times a day to haul fans in then treat them like crap. Half of the affiliates didn't even show up. It really was a disapointment in years past it was fun even when my audition sucked. Well at least there is the real probability that nobody will see it anyway. I have pics i will post so you can see.

Well...I got there oober early (5:30 AM) and there were only four cars ahead of me. You couldn't even get in to park so there was a line of cars waiting down the street. They did open up the gates to park at around 8:30 (to get the freaks off the street). From there we raced to the front entrance where I was first. Then we had to race to another line to get a zoo ticket (please keep in mind I had six inch heels on haha!). Then we had to race back to the front entrance. Then they let us in the zoo (which doesn't open till 9:30) and we had to race to where they were keeping us penned. I wound up at the front of that line too. We then jogged behind a golf cart to get the casting area where I wound up being 6th in the "B" line. The shooting started right at ten and I was done by about 10:30. I would imagine the other people took much longer as it was a fairly long line-and most probalby got heat stroke waiting in it...

So, my actual wait for them to start filming wasn't long-however the entire process was, and needed to be to assure myself a front place in the line....

Nice to see you agian!

I had wanted to apply since Borneo. But I was lazy and did'nt apply until after Vanuatu. The first time I applied(Guatemala) I just knew by sending it in that The million dollars was mine. No reply So I tried sending in two apllications for Exile Island. It's almost like tattoos once you start you get more and more ideas.Or with Survivor I think well, maybe this would have been fun or something else. Then on Cook Island I sent in a couple of applications and went to an open casting call in Baton Rouge. There was about 80-100 people there. It was fun in the sense that it was my first time to be around others who were applying. Before then I had only met a girl who had interviewed for Africa. But she did'nt say much.. I read the books on reality casting ,I got a myspace message from Rob C. with some advice, still nothing. For Fiji I sent in 2 again just because after I watched it it got on my nerves and I thought I could do better.with China I sent in just one and the same with Survivor16. My thought was that with so many thousand of applications going in the more i sent in the merrier. It's cool to get on here and see so many other fans and there ideas and frustrations with applying. Has anyone made it into the semi-finals or beyond. I would love to here of your experiences..And for now I wait and just know that this wil be the season that I get picked at the same time i 'm getting ideas for my next video. Sometimes it seems like we're all misfits from the Island of Lost Toys, or maybe the Island of Lost Applications which is not to be confused with the island on LOST. That's a whole different bunch of freaks not to mention a different network.

Good luck to all and to all a good luck.

Sounds like a tryout for The Amazing Race instead an audition for Survivor.
