MasterPo	The wonderfull new page layout Jul 14 2007, 4:30 PM EDT Was this really necessary? I think this change might get someone voted off the island. Or at least someone needs a bare bottom spanking. The people who had side-by-side videos and text might not agree this major edit has enhanced clarity. RE: The wonderfull new page layout Jul 14 2007, 4:44 PM EDT Snizz walks to the voting thingamathingy...whips out her nifty pink permanent marker (who picked black anyhow)...begins to write frantically on the papyrus: "Although the new format sticks me way at the top and is even better than my original primo position, I must say I prefer the double columns." She also doodles a really freaky picture of a wookie mooning the single column... She holds up the paper and does her little speech to the camera, "Quite honestly I thought the whole messing with the columns was a very bad idea from the beginning. Seriously though, I don't really even care cuz it takes the spotlight off of me, everyone will be going after the column messer upper now...Long as I'm there in the end I don't really care if it's one column or two...na, that's a lie, I still like two..." RE: The wonderfull new page layout Jul 15 2007, 1:12 AM EDT I made the change, I apologize if none of you like it I dont post here, but I love to watch all of the videos I found the layout had no instructions so it was confusing, what went with what, I took it upon myself to change the table to a single column for clarity, I will happily change it back if you find it not to your desires, I fiind it prettier, I like mark's comment, I dounbt a unanimous concensus is likely, but I would fully agree it should be however the users prefer, ( with posting users votes worth more ) I would of best like it to be post a video link on the left and you commentary on the right, this would look great and be so wonderful to use, if every post was a video with comments,but when there are stand alone comments it got confusing, If more replies are made to masterpo's comment "wonderful new layout"( sarcastic) then I will rapidly place the page back into a two column layout, with BTW I like a lot also. You may now say, why didnt you ask for permission first, I thought it would be too hard to explain, or more correctly, that you others wouldnt be able to visualize it, ( I couldnt, it looks different than I expected ) Let me put forward a new comment or I can post post it here Three choices for Audition Video Layout, plan A - single column free form input, add to bottom ( or insert ) plan B single column additions to the bottom plan C two columns with layour instructions, video links (only) on the right, with commentary and support graphics on the right plan D two columns with free form input, left or right, inside or at bottom plan E, ;) you make a suggestion, I hope no one is so mad as to want to spank me, I wanted to SHOW an idea, apologies for all who are pissed and anxiously awaiting the return of 2 columns Post reply Do you find this valuable?

RE: The wonderfull new page layout Jul 15 2007, 1:16 AM EDT My vote is 1 column ( as I think it is easy to use and looks nice) my second vote would be, 2 columns with videos left comments right one more note, if video links only, are put in the left column it would look the best the left column would be skinny with video links and the right column would be wide with space for word art that sort of rigid 2 column would be the best in my vote, Post reply Do you find this valuable?

I am changing it back-and for the record, I think this "I don't have any vidoes here but I'm going to change the whole format cuz I want to and maybe I'll change it back" is a pretty stinky thing to do in any galaxy...and on some planets would be justifiable cause to be fed to a sarlacc.... RE: The wonderfull new page layout Jul 15 2007, 9:06 AM EDT Ok, so I've changed it back, but still don't see that one missing video, maybe it was taken out a while back and i missed it...In the very least the page is the way it was, and if everyone wants to make it one column it doesn't bother me in the least, however I say before we make a huge change (which involves multiple people) we need more input before we start dinking with it...Transmissions from Kamino say my clone army isn't ready yet, ALMOST but not quite. I'd rather not only rely on the wookies to back me up before The Audition Page War is waged... Toodles! Princess Jedi Master Captain Snizz usually reigns over Planet Snizz, however Darth Snizz does indeed exist...She is usually kept hidden except on rare occasions when she hasn't had her morning coffee or feels a great injustice has occurred... I think your right about Cid's videos...My personal thought is that all text and videos should be in their own box...each life form gets their own square planet to pimp out as they see fit...It's less confuseling (still a word on Planet Snizz) to the Gungans... You have been elected a tribe leader I took the time to check out your link to your family webapage, very nice pictures of you. Since the most powerful competitor here is snizz ( she circumvented a democratic vote and took control) I put forward a request for a vote to modify the two column table seems to waste so much space with empty boxes(cells) and the format is hap-hazard, Thanks to dictator Snizz, Is there anyone who dares NOT to be on her alliance, and vote for a restructuring of this page, a single column or leave it as it was 2 columsn haphazard, or 2 with video links on the left and text /pics on the right, or put forward an idea of your own please see my new comment my choice of survivor 17 WIKI-BLOGGERS Magic; often with the slight of hand, the eye can be decieved, as you lok here reading, what is the other hand doing? RE: The wonderfull new page layout Jul 15 2007, 11:47 AM EDT FIRST AND FOREMOST...I merely changed the page back to the way it was PRIOR TO THE HOSTILE TAKEOVER...Does the president just say, Hay! I'm president, by the way, you can vote if you want to keep me? NO. elections usually occur FIRST. Your icon clearly states, USA (and here we are a democratic society why not behave as if we are?). Secondly, the page can and should be changed to whatever format the applicants vote for. Your "two column haphazard" comment is a matter of opinion and last time I checked opinions are like a void in a lower posterior area of the human anatomy, everyone's got one. This audition page was made by multiple persons with one dream. Each took the time to edit it in the style that suited them. I feel, that to come and undo all that everyone has worked at is highly presumptuious and darnright rude. Toodles! Post reply Do you find this valuable?

RE: The wonderfull new page layout Jul 15 2007, 11:53 AM EDT I think two two colum design is a nice theory, if people took a row, and made layed it out nice, this page is titled audition videos isn't it? I thought it would be best if it had video links on the left only allowing that column to be small and text / pics commentary on the right unfortunately, I find the page has a lot of wasterd space, with boxes upon boxes unused a single column would make things simple, and have no waste space Of course I would not tamper with anyones input, dont accuse me of that We can go back to any of many formats a single column has the benefits of allowing you to give prologue or postscript comments to your video, it allows people to enter, artistic text of any text of input without it wasting space finally the single column adds clarity,by having one column, you wont have a table that is two wide for some peoples screens and you can tell which text goes with which video, I also believe there are so many things in here, there arent enough pages, Aside from AR ( amazing race ) and survivor 16 ( post China 15 ) applications there are few FIJI survivor audition tapes wouldnt it be nice if you could see the audition tapes of the people who applied what kind of video made it to the 800 in august, how kid candidates get chosen to be in final 48 of september, you can see most of the final 16 audition tapes, I just was putting forward the idea of cleaning up this mess. your dictator has taken control I will start a new page I am accepting audition tapes for MY version of survivor 17 my mind control will convince CBS that WIKI BLOGGERS is better than and all-stars #2 please bring your video and any other creative inputs to this page,,oops ( SINGLE column ) page ;)P each contestant will have 10 minutes each day on a wireless laptop, to post blogs, but see nothing from outside world or other blogs SURVIVOR 17 WIKI-BLOGGERS, lmao Post reply Do you find this valuable?

RE: The wonderfull new page layout Jul 15 2007, 1:27 PM EDT looking at what the page looks like now, my reply to your question MasterPo, is YES, ( it was really necessary) with no one in charge, and everyone havingthe ability to edit the whole page ( a design flaw, tha page should work like the comments, ( but with edits ) where you would only be allowed to change YOUR submissions, not the page layout, and other peoples submissions and putting your submission beside their's in the same row, Due to the design flaw, it would be advantageous ( in that there is less wasted space , empty boxes you scrool and scroll past, and easier layout to understand for input ( freeform ) and a wider column to work with, rather than two med ones or ten small ones, and ther would be no need for sidescrolling ) so, My response to your question is YES, If you look, historically other users have 'totally deleted the page, and had many difficulties initally understnading how to use the easy editor and how to place their input, the page was lacking clear instructions or guidance, and over the last few months ( as a non registered user ) I have been frustrated with people ability to mess up a page, they should only have access to their own box, but that isnt possible, so out of frustration 'we' :)P decided to show you that it could easily be laid out prettier and more clear, with easier use and less wasting scrolling through empty boxes, I even took on the task and responsibility to do the transfer and make it look pretty, once again, users have messed the page up, I would STRONGLY prefer a single WIDE (400 or 600) column I find the page is continually being messed up by people who find the wiki interface tricky. RE: The wonderfull new page layout Jul 15 2007, 1:42 PM EDT I dont wish to be flamed persecuted, ganged up against, demeaned or spanked, thank you very much This space is full of strong personalities, we all know that and should respect that, I want to clear something up I was NOT being a dictator, I was bringing an idea to visualiztion as a creative person, sometimes you appreciate that even a simple idea is often not seen with the clarity when imagined as when it is seen, You wife may want the couch over there, she may have thought about that for years, and be able to visualize it you may not, once the couch is moved it may happily stay in this better ( more funcational or prettier ) place for years and decades. Upon moving the couch you may see the wisdom of it, or she may see things she couldnt visualize I have visited these pages for a long time as a visitor and this was one of the few that seemed so poorly layed out I decided to change it, ( autocratically ) to a single column to see it I was right there are things I liked about one column MANY and a few I dont, ( it seems longer, but,, it actually isnt ) there are things I liked about the old two column free format ( a few with MANY I dont ) I decided,, that is ME not WE, that I would "Just Do it" a nike slogan I think is key to enjoying life. rather than open a discussion and ask people to comment on something they couldnt see or test if it was more functional so I did the work, to change it and let things be to see what would happen, some people are flinging me crap, others are not commenting and others have the wisdom to say lets have a majority and vote on this I do NOT feel users should be dictators, in this page, I wanted to put out a change, like moving the piano, into the living room, and see how it worked and what the reactions are, I think the page is now messed up real bad once again, please come visit SURVIVOR 17 auditions page Post reply Do you find this valuable?

RE: The wonderfull new page layout Jul 15 2007, 1:57 PM EDT Well, I have accomplished my goal, the topic is open, I didnt lie the mess and I have watched be be conflused and delete the whole page, adding in other boxes and all sort of mistakes. I originally thought it should be videos on the left and comments on the right, with each person basically having a row to themselves If it is going to be a two column format, and you all feel as a group you can change the layout of a page then I vote for the new format, two columns with structure. I have stated, why I think that isnt the best format, and how when I saw and used to single WIDE column with no wasted space that it was superior, of course I wouldnt dare, force a format on you all, and I dont think any one person should, unless they create the space. It isnt like extrafancy is commenting here, I feel the only person who should have Captain powers is him and I dont have any respect for Darthian insults, but thanks for speaking up and being part of the solution, if it is to be democratic, which is what I prefer, ( actually republican ) then I hope someone suggest a vote i put forward that comment earlier where people could reply and state what they would like, since we ARE all empowered with that ability We CAN change the page layout I thought it would be best if each person had a square to pimp out as they wish the two column format wastes the screen if someone only puts in a video , or if they only put in text, or if they put them in at different sizes, it generally wastes space and causes conflusion I would prefer you READ before/rather than insult/flame me Post reply Do you find this valuable?
